The Ustream.tv was mostly inaccessible Wednesday morning, May 9, 2012 due to large scale Distributed Denial of Service ("DDoS") attacks from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Iran targeting a Russian citizen journalists broadcasting on Ustream. Ustream Techs worked throughout the day to mitigate the evolving attacks.

Ustream upgraded all User Profile Pages to a new design which better displays your activity stream and allows you to add some additional information you'd like to share about yourself.
If you broadcast on Ustream, information on your channels and upcoming events will also be displayed on your profile.
Pro Broadcasters can also display their channel's Extensions and iFrames on their profile.

On February 9, 2012, Ustream announced new recorded video storage limits on free and Pro Broadcasting Ustream accounts.
Ustream stated they had to enact these limits to control increasing storage costs so they can continue to provide the free services and continue to provide Pro Broadcasting services at affordable price points to Professional Broadcasters.
