Ustream compatible Network and IP Cameras

Network and IP Cameras do not need to directly connect to a computer and in some cases cannot at all. Instead, they either wireless connect to a wireless router or wired computer network using Ethernet cable. Because of this they're better suited to situations where it doesn't make sense or isn't practical to locate a computer near the camera.

To use Network and IP Cameras you'll need to purchase Ustream Producer Studio or use other software to send the camera's video to Ustream. Some users have successfully used screen capture in the free version of Ustream Producer to capture a Network IP camera's video and broadcast it without directly connecting to the camera but this is less than ideal and has other drawbacks.

Some Network and IP Cameras come with "water-resistant" housings and mounts for use in outdoor applications. It is still recommended that these cameras be shielded from rain by placing them under an overhang or other protective cover which deflects the rain away and also help direct the spill off away front of the front of the camera's lens.
