How to configure sound with Ustream Web Broadcast Console

New (Q1 2012) Ustream Web Broadcast Console

  1. Plug in your audio device prior to opening the Ustream broadcaster window.
  2. Sign into your Ustream Account
  3. Open the Ustream broadcaster window by selecting "Your Shows" at the top and clicking "Broadcast Now" or you can also use the "broadcast now" on the Homepage.
  4. Click "Allow" Ustream access to your Microphone and Video (if displayed).
  5. Click the Gear icon.
  6. Select the audio device from the Audio Sources in the drop down menu on the right.
    • If you have a mic plugged into the input on your computer or laptop then select "Built-in Input".
    • If you want to use an embedded web cam mic then select "Built-in Microphone".
    • If you want to use the audio from a DV camera then you need to connect it to your laptop via a cable connection and then would want to select "Built-in Input".

  6. Click "Apply" in the broadcaster window.
  7. Confirm "Audio Broadcast" is checked under the Local Stream Monitor over on the left hand side of the broadcasting console is set to "On".
